Since joining Hartford HealthCare in 1997 and becoming a full-time physician within the organization in 2012, he has played a vital role in expanding comprehensive rehabilitation services across the healthcare system.

Dr. Seetharama currently serves as System Chief of Hartford HealthCare Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Medical Director of the Hartford HealthCare Rehab Network and The Hospital of Central Connecticut Spine Center, as well as Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program. In addition to his clinical leadership roles, he is the founder and Program Director of the UConn/Hartford Hospital PM&R Residency Program, where he continues to mentor and train the next generation of rehabilitation physicians. His expertise encompasses spinal cord injury rehabilitation, sports-related and musculoskeletal injuries, amputee care, electromyography (EMG), and rehabilitation management. He is also actively involved in neuromodulation research, contributing to ongoing innovation within rehabilitative medicine.

A graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College in India, Dr. Seetharama completed his internship at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia, followed by his residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at St. Francis Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Beyond his clinical and academic achievements, he is deeply committed to humanitarian efforts and community service through his participation in a global medical mission initiative in Peru. Recognized for establishing and leading Hartford’s PM&R Residency Program and for his decades-long dedication to rehabilitation medicine since 1997, Dr. Seetharama continues to elevate standards of patient care, physician education, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
